Privacy Policy for CourtNotes

Effective date: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Analytical Strategies Group ("we," "us," or "our") handles your information in the CourtNotes mobile application ("the app").

The short version: CourtNotes is built to keep your data on your device. We do not collect it, we do not run servers that receive it, and we do not sell or share it with anyone. Your recordings, transcripts, notes, and everything you create in the app stay on your iPhone.

1. Information the app stores on your device

When you use CourtNotes, the app creates and stores the following on your device only:

All of this information is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. The app has no user accounts, no login, and no server that receives your content or usage data. We do not have access to your recordings, transcripts, notes, or any other information you create in the app.

3. Permissions the app requests

CourtNotes asks for the following permissions so its features can work. Each is used only for the stated purpose, and the resulting data stays on your device:

You can grant or deny these permissions at any time in your device's Settings. If you deny a permission, the related feature will not function, but the rest of the app will continue to work.

4. On-device processing

Transcription is performed using your device's speech recognition, and the app's analysis of your sessions is performed using your device's on-device intelligence features. This processing happens locally on your iPhone. The app does not send your recordings, transcripts, or notes to us or to any third party for processing.

These transcription and intelligence capabilities are features of your device's operating system, provided by Apple. Any processing performed by the operating system itself is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Any health-related references that may appear (for example, a mention of "shoulder" or "wrist" surfaced from your own recordings) are derived on your device from content you created, are stored only on your device, and are not collected by us. They are informational observations drawn from your sessions and are not medical advice.

5. No advertising, tracking, or analytics

CourtNotes does not display ads. It does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking software. It does not track you across other apps or websites, and it does not use your device's advertising identifier.

6. Information handled by Apple and the App Store

CourtNotes is distributed through Apple's App Store. When you download or use an app from the App Store, Apple may collect certain information (such as download and aggregate usage statistics, and crash reports) in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. Any statistics Apple makes available to us as the developer are aggregated and anonymized, and do not identify you personally. We do not receive your content or personal information through this process.

7. Device backups

Because your app data is stored on your device, it may be included in your own device backups (for example, an iCloud backup or a backup to your computer) if you have backups enabled. Those backups are controlled by your device settings and are governed by Apple's policies. We do not have access to your backups.

8. Your control over your data, retention, and deletion

You are in control of the data the app stores on your device:

Because we do not collect or store your information, there is no copy of your data held by us to retrieve or delete.

9. Children's privacy

CourtNotes is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, no personal information about children is collected.

10. Your privacy rights

Privacy laws in some regions (such as the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the UK, and the CCPA/CPRA in California) give individuals rights over their personal information. Because CourtNotes does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information, and because your data remains on your own device under your control, we do not hold personal information about you to access, correct, delete, or transfer. You can manage and delete your on-device data directly within the app and through your device settings, as described above.

11. Security

Your information is stored on your device and protected by your device's built-in security features, including any passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID protections you have enabled. We encourage you to keep your device secured and your operating system up to date.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be reflected in an app update. Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
